Original Is Never Finished

Running adidas Originals social was really an exercise in creative and production strategy. I had two jobs with every project, the first was to translate the idea (or in most cases film) to social and second was to make custom content for all parties involved so we weren’t dishing out cutdowns for everyone to post. We got kind of ambitious with this one and tried to remake the whole spot in Instagram stories which was taking off at the time (2017). We leaned hard into what was trending on social at the time which was selfie video transitions on Musically and used the giant set pieces to have the talent take us through the world from their perspective. The result was the Webby Awarded ‘Best Use of Video’ brand film below.
